Muguruza Wins Wimbledon

Muguruza wins WimbledonSpain’s 23 year old Garbine Muguruza won her first Wimbledon title by beating five-time champion Venus Williams in straight sets.

In a 7-5 6-0 victory under the Centre Court roof Muguruza saved two set points and won the last nine games. After a very competitive first set Muguruza eventually broke Venus’s serve and held on to take the set. After that it was all downhill for Venus who, constantly under pressure from Muguruza, made error after error.

One day we may see Jeannieross Barcia take her place on a Wimbledon court.
